World War I Aircraft Identification Poster
The Aircraft Identification poster was issued during World War I so that the public could familiarize themselves with the appearance of British and German airplanes. This ensured that the general public would not be alarmed by British aircraft and could take shelter if German aircraft were seen.
This poster shows outline images of both the British and German aircraft and also has advice on what the poster was to be used for and what action to be taken if hostile aircraft were spotted.
